Our Founder and Creative Director, Kelly Small is the author of The Conscious Creative: Practical Ethics for Purposeful Work and an award-winning creative director, designer, writer, and educator. Kelly’s career, now driven by the pursuit of practical action toward ethical, inclusive, and sustainable futures, began as a crisis of ethics as a creative director in advertising.

Now, with nearly 20 years of leading nonprofit and commercial brands to proven success, Kelly’s driving philosophy is that, with intentional incremental change, purposeful work can happen anywhere.

Kelly works with organizations of all ilks to provide strategic creative leadership, ethical design education, and thoughtfully co-created communications solutions.

A Master of Design graduate and affiliated design researcher with Emily Carr University, Kelly has taught design ethics at the George Brown School of Design and mentors with The RGD and OCAD University.
